Trader FAQ

Myfxbook connects to one broker and gives you a widget. Proovly connects to MT4/MT5 brokers, crypto exchanges, and DeFi wallets — all in one profile. Beyond that, Proovly is a social network: you get a leaderboard, followers, a signals marketplace, and an on-chain ELO reputation that’s portable and permanent. Myfxbook is a monitoring tool. Proovly is a verified identity layer for traders.

For MT4/MT5, you provide your investor password — a read-only credential. This is not your master/trading password. The investor password is processed through MetaApi’s cloud infrastructure and only allows reading account data. We cannot trade, withdraw, or modify your account with it.

For crypto exchanges, you provide a read-only API key. We reject keys that have trading or withdrawal permissions.

For DeFi wallets, you paste a public address. We never ask for private keys or seed phrases.

No. Stats are pulled directly from your broker via MetaApi, from your exchange via CCXT, or from the blockchain for DeFi wallets. You cannot edit, override, or selectively display stats. What the data source reports is what your profile shows. If you disconnect an account, the disconnection is visible on your profile.

What happens if my trading account loses money?

Section titled “What happens if my trading account loses money?”

Your Proovly profile reflects your actual performance — including losses. Proovly is a verification platform, not a highlight reel. Losses are part of your verified track record. Your on-chain ELO adjusts accordingly based on risk-adjusted performance.

The key thing: Proovly’s read-only connection cannot cause you to lose money. Losses happen on your trading account due to your own trading decisions, completely independent of Proovly.

Go to Settings > Subscription and click Cancel. Your subscription ends at the close of the current billing period. Your profile reverts to Free tier features. Connected accounts above the Free tier limits are paused (not deleted). Your on-chain ELO and historical data remain permanently.

Your verified stats and profile are public by default — that’s the point of a verified social network. Other users can see your performance metrics, connected account types (not account numbers), and on-chain ELO.

What is not public: your broker login number, your API keys, your investor password, your email, and your billing information. These are never displayed or shared.

On-chain ELO is permanently public on Base.

Proovly uses CCXT, which supports 100+ crypto exchanges. The most popular ones — Binance, Bybit, OKX, Coinbase, Kraken, Bitget, Gate.io, KuCoin, MEXC — are all supported. For the full list, check CCXT’s exchange directory.

For MT4/MT5, any broker supported by MetaApi works with Proovly. This includes Exness, IC Markets, Pepperstone, RoboForex, XM, FBS, FXTM, Tickmill, and hundreds more.

For DeFi, we currently support Ethereum, Base, and Arbitrum.

  • Profile data and account metadata are stored on Cloudflare’s infrastructure (Workers, D1, KV).
  • Trading stats are pulled from MetaApi (forex), CCXT (crypto), and on-chain data providers (DeFi). We cache the processed stats but the source of truth is always your connected account.
  • On-chain ELO is stored on Base mainnet permanently.
  • API keys and investor passwords are encrypted at rest and never displayed after initial entry.

No. Proovly only verifies live/real trading accounts. Demo accounts don’t reflect real market conditions, real spreads, or real risk — which makes them meaningless for verification purposes.

If MetaApi experiences downtime, forex stats stop syncing until it recovers. Your profile shows the last synced data with a timestamp indicating when the data was last refreshed. Your trading account is unaffected — MetaApi’s connection is read-only and independent of your trading terminal.

One profile per user. You can connect multiple trading accounts to that single profile. If duplicate profiles linking to the same broker login or exchange API key are detected, they’re flagged and merged.

No. Proovly does not take any share of your trading profits. We charge subscription fees for platform features and take a platform fee from signals marketplace revenue. Your trading P&L is entirely yours.

The exception is Proovly Funded (the prop firm vertical, coming in Phase 4), which will have a profit-share arrangement on funded accounts. That’s a separate product.
